No rest for the wicked and certainly not for Germany’s minor leaguers.
C Kai Gronauer (Las Vegas 51′s, AAA)
Gronauer didn’t see any playing time over the past week and with one of his teammates being mentioned for a September call-up (and it wasn’t Travis d’Arnaud) one can guess that he doesn’t really have a future in the Mets organization. Judging by this picture he seems to be having fun at AAA, though.
LF Donald Lutz (Pensacola Blue Whahoos, AA)
Lutz seems to have found some of his groove, going 4-16 with a double and 3 RBI, while striking out 3 times. His average dipped to .223 and he isn’t really ripping it at AA, but he seems to be on the right track.
OF Max Kepler-Rosicky (Cedar Rapids Kernels, A)
After a fast start Kepler has cooled offf substantially and now sits at .245/.325/.461 with 4 HR, 17 RBI, 11 BB and 23 K over 26 games. He went 3-23, falling only 1 K short of the golden sombrero on Sunday. He seems to have found his stroke over the past two games though, recording a hit in each of those. Anybody know a German restaurant that Mr Kepler can go to?
RHP Daniel Thieben (Pulaski Mariners, Advanced Rookie)
Thieben imploded during the only game he pitched over the past week. On July 17th against the Johnson City Cardinals he gace up 1H and 3 BB, which all came around to score, making it 4 ER for him (box).
RHP Markus Solbach (GCL Twins, Rookie)
Solbach didn’t see any action over the past seven days.
