Things are looking good for Hanshin

Over the past few weeks I wasn’t able to follow the action in the NPB, so I was surprised to find out the Tigers are in 2nd place, only 0.5 games back on the Giants.

They put a solid gap between them an 4th place, so a finish in the climax series ranks looks possible. Of course having Matt Murton back in his single season hits record breaking form helps a lot. And the Tigers pitching staff ranks 2nd only to the Giants. And that’s only by a very small margin. And the rookie Shintaro Fujinami leads the way (8 G, 4 W, 1 L, 46.1 IP, 41 K, 13 BB, 2.14 ERA).

On a side note it’s sad to hear that NPB is thinking about cancelling the opening of the season on US soil. Read more on Yakyubaka. I was really preparing myself to fly to the west coast and watch the games.
