Germans abroad: The week in review (05/31/13-06/06/13)

With the short season leagues opening day on the horizon we might get some news on the German players in those leagues in the near future.

LF Donald Lutz (Cincinnati Reds)
Lutz continues to see playing time as a pinch hitter, but he doesn’t get as many starts as he did when he was called up. I have no idea whether this had any influence on his hitting, but his slash line has been pretty steady and now sits at .255/.271/.340. He recorded 2 H and 3 K in seven at bats last week.

C Kai Gronauer (Las Vegas 51′s, AAA)
Unfortunately Gronauer didn’t get into a game last week. He did take a stand on the Biogenisis scandal though by retweeting this:

OF Max Kepler-Rosicky (Cedar Rapids Kernels, A)
Kepler once again made it into a Twins Top 10 prospects list, but his season hasn’t started yet.

RHP Daniel Thieben (Pulaski Mariners, Advanced Rookie Ball)
Finally some news on Mariners prospect Daniel Thieben who was promoted to Advanced Rookie Ball after playing in the Arizona League last season. His season will start on June 20th.

Nothing new on Julsan Kamara and Markus Solbach.
