First German in the big leagues. Congratulations to Donald Lutz.

Ladies and gentlemen, we finally have a German player in the big Leagues.

According to the man himself, Donald Lutz has been called up by the Cincinnati Reds.

Now this is something. I really hope he gets to play. This is just awesome!

Lutz was at AA Penscola hitting .211/.294/.513 with 5 HR in 21 games. He spent time in the outfield, at first base and he DH’ed for 2 games. With Chris Heisey going down he projects to get playing time in the outfield, I believe. At first he had a fielding percentage of .966 with 2 errors in 59 chances.
