Germans abroad: The week in review (04/12/13-04/18/13)

Here’s what the German minor leaguers did last week.

C Kai Gronauer (Las Vegas 51′s, AAA)

With Travis d’Arnaud going down with an injury one would expect that Gronauer’s playing time might increase, but instead Landon Powell got the start against Sacramento. Well, he got another AB on April 13th, but he still doesn’t have a hit. We’ll have to wait and see whether he will get to start a game in place of Powell and with d’Arnaud out for the next eight weeks there should be a chance for him to record his first AAA hit. Does he get to keep the Ball as well, when he finally gets the hit? Like they do it in the majors?

1B Donald Lutz (Pensacola Blue Wahoos, AA)

Lutz is picking things up. He raised his average to .244, he hit two more home runs, he lowered his strikeout numbers, so he’s been looking good over the past week.

Again, no stats available for Max Kepler-Rosicky, Daniel Thieben and Markus Solbach yet.
