This was exactly what I was hoping for when Matt Harvey takes the mound this season.
To say I’d be expecting a no-hit bid every start would be going too far, but the sheer force and domination that Harvey is showing on the mound in his starts is very enjoyable. Granted, he only pitched against two teams who’ll be in the cellar of their divisions by the end of the year, and one whose offense still has issues. But you have to make the pitches and keeping your opponents off the basepaths is a thing that’s difficult against any team in the big leagues.
No, Harvey’s just got the look of self-confidence. He almost looks calm when he takes the mound. As if he’s toying with the opposition.
I just hope he doesn’t get the nickname Dwight Gooden envisions for him.
