Germans abroad: The week in review (04/05/13-04/11/13)

Here’s a look at what the German minor leaguers did this past week.

C Kai Gronauer (Las Vegas 51’s, AAA)
As expected he doesn’t get a lot of playing time because of the presence of Travis d’Arnaud. He only had one AB so far in which he didn’t record a hit. And his situation doesn’t look like it will improve any time soon with John Buck doing what he does at the moment with the Mets. But he’s now got an official AB at the AAA level and, hey, even in Japan they’re talking about him.

Maybe he’ll end up with the Hanshin Tigers one day, who knows…

1B Donald Lutz (Pensacola Blue Wahoos, AA)
Lutz on the other hand is an everyday player at AA with the Blue Wahoos. He’s off to a slow start hitting only .150/.190/.450 over six games with 2HR. What’s a bit worrying are 9K in 20 AB, but maybe that’ll improve as the season moves along. He’s also got 1BB and 1SB.

Since the short season teams haven’t seen any action yet there’s no data on Max Kepler-Rosicky, Daniel Thieben and Markus Solbach.
